Today we are commemorating the International Day of Human Fraternity, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in recognition of the efforts aimed at promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue of His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad al-Tayeb, who on 4 February 2019 signed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace & Living Together”.
While welcoming this commemoration, the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and its Permanent International Secretariat reaffirm their commitment to promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity and work closely with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations towards fulfilling a world of “One Humanity, Many Cultures”. Especially in these troubled times in and around our region, we hope that peace and cooperation will prevail.
